Fall Hayrides and Wagon Rides Near Tampa
Fall in Florida doesn't announce itself. There's no turning of the leaves and no cold snap to speak of — just a morning in October when the humidity finally breaks and being outside stops feeling like work.
That's the season for a wagon ride. If you're looking for a hayride near Tampa that isn't a parking lot with a hay bale in it, here's what we run at the ranch.
The Cow Pasture Cruise
The Cow Pasture Cruise is a ninety-minute guided wagon ride through the working part of Riverbend — out across the pastures, into the woodlands, and down along the riverfront.
You'll see the herd where it actually lives rather than penned up for display, and you'll hear how a cattle ranch runs day to day: how we rotate the pastures, how the animals are handled, what the year looks like from calving through to processing.
It's an hour and a half outdoors on a working ranch, which is a different thing from a ride around a field.
Good for Families, Not Just Kids
Children love it, and it's built to hold their attention. But the questions we get most often come from adults, usually people who buy good beef and have never had the chance to ask a rancher anything.
Groups from The Villages, Ocala and Tampa Bay make the drive regularly. It works as a family outing, a group activity, or an unusual thing to do with visitors who've already been to the beach.
What to Bring
Closed-toe shoes are required — this is pasture and dirt track, not a paved path. Everyone signs a waiver before the ride, and children need an adult with them.
The terrain won't reliably accommodate wheelchairs or strollers, so please call ahead if that affects your group and we'll tell you honestly what to expect.
Beyond that: a hat, water, and a camera. Late fall mornings out here are worth photographing.
Make a Morning of It
The ranch store is open Thursday through Sunday, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., so you can pair a ride with a walk out to feed the animals and a stop inside for dry-aged beef to take home.
Bring a cooler if you're driving any distance. People consistently underestimate how much beef they're going to leave with.

We're Megan and Billy Bevers, first-generation ranchers in Floral City, Florida. Showing people the pasture their dinner came from is the whole point of opening the gate.
